How to extract pages from a PDF
- Add your PDF. Drop it on the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or press Select a PDF file.
- Pick the pages. Click each page you want, and a tick appears on it. To pick a run of pages, click the first one, hold Shift, and click the last. You can also type numbers such as
1-3, 8in Pages to extract. Select all and Clear help with long files. - Choose how to save them. One PDF puts all the picked pages in a single file. A separate PDF for each page gives you one file per page, packed in a .zip. In that mode, a label on each picked page shows which file it becomes.
- Press Extract pages and download the result.
Extract or remove?
Both tools give you a shorter PDF, so pick the one that needs fewer clicks. Extract is best when you want a few pages out of many, such as the two signature pages of a 40-page contract. Remove pages is best when you want to drop a few pages and keep most of the document.
If you need several new files, each with a different group of pages, Split PDF lets you type all the groups at once.
Page order and file names
Picked pages keep the order they have in the original, even if you type the numbers in a different order. To change the order, extract the pages first, then move them around with Organize PDF.
New files are named after the original. From report.pdf you get report-extracted.pdf, or report-page-3.pdf and so on when each page becomes its own file, all inside report-pages.zip. In documents with 10 or more pages, the numbers get a leading zero, like report-page-07.pdf, so the files sort in the right order in any folder.
What you get
Each page is copied as it is. Text stays sharp and searchable, pictures keep their quality, and every page keeps its size and rotation. Bookmarks and fillable form fields don't come along.
The work happens on your own device, and the PDF is never uploaded. That keeps private papers private, and you don't wait for an upload. Each PDF can be up to 200 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Can I extract pages from a scanned PDF?
Yes. A scanned page is a picture inside the PDF, and it is copied like any other page.
Why is the new file almost as big as the original?
The fonts and images that the picked pages use have to come along with them. If one large logo or font appears on every page, each new file still needs its own copy.
How do I open the .zip file?
Most computers open a .zip with a double-click. On a phone, open it from the Files app on an iPhone, or from your file manager on Android, and choose to unzip or extract it.
Is there a page limit?
There is no set number of pages. Very long files just take a little longer on older phones, because your own device does the work.
This tool works in your browser: your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Check the result before you share it or delete the original.
