How to remove pages from a PDF
- Add your PDF. Drop it on the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or press Select a PDF file. A small picture of every page appears.
- Mark the pages to delete. Click a page to put a red cross on it, and click again to take the cross off. To mark a run of pages, click the first one, hold Shift, and click the last. You can also type the page numbers in Pages to remove.
- Check your choice. The counter above the pages shows how many are marked, and marked pages are faded.
- Press Remove pages and download the new PDF. It is named after your file, for example report-pages-removed.pdf.
Typing page numbers
| You type | Pages removed |
|---|---|
3 |
Page 3 |
2, 5-7 |
Pages 2, 5, 6 and 7 |
10- |
Page 10 to the last page |
1-3, 9 |
Pages 1, 2, 3 and 9 |
Separate numbers with commas. If you type a page that doesn't exist, such as page 50 in a 10-page file, the tool says so and the button waits until the numbers are right. A typo can't remove the wrong pages.
You can't remove every page
A PDF needs at least one page, so the button stays off when every page is marked. If you only want to keep a few pages out of many, it is usually faster to pick those with Extract pages.
Removed pages are really gone
The pages you keep are copied into a brand-new PDF. The removed pages are not hidden or covered up. They are simply not in the new file, so nobody can recover them from it. That matters when you take out pages with private details before you send a document on. Your original file stays exactly as it was on your device.
The pages you keep don't change: same size, same rotation, and sharp text that you can still select and search. Bookmarks and fillable form fields are not carried into the new file.
Private by design
The whole job runs in your browser. Your own computer or phone reads the PDF and builds the new one, and the file is never uploaded. There is no upload wait, and no copy of your document ends up on a server. Each PDF can be up to 200 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove pages from several PDFs at once?
This tool works on one PDF at a time. To delete pages across several files and join what is left, add them all to Organize PDF and use the delete button on each page.
Will the file get smaller?
Usually, yes, because removed pages take their text and pictures with them. If they shared fonts or images with the pages you kept, the saving is smaller.
Can I get a removed page back?
Not from the new file. Your original PDF hasn't changed, so add it again and make a new choice.
Does it work with a password-protected PDF?
No. Open the file in a PDF reader, enter the password, save a copy without one, and use that copy here.
This tool works in your browser: your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Check the result before you share it or delete the original.
