How to convert PDF to PowerPoint
- Add your PDF. Drop it on the box, paste it with Ctrl+V, or press Select a PDF file.
- Check the slide size. Under your file, the tool shows how many slides you will get and how big they are.
- Choose the picture quality. Standard is sharp on any screen. High is for zooming in and printing, and makes a bigger file.
- Keep the speaker notes on or turn them off.
- Press Convert to PowerPoint and download the .pptx file.
What you get: slides that are pictures of your pages
Know this before you start. Each slide holds one picture of its page, so the slides look exactly like the PDF: the same fonts, colors, charts and layout. But the text is part of the picture. You can't click into a sentence and change a word.
That is the right result when you want to present a PDF, add your own slides before or after it, write or draw on top of a page, or send a deck to someone who asked for a .pptx file. If you need to rewrite the content, start with a tool that gives you editable text, such as PDF to Word, and paste from there.
Speaker notes with the page text
With the notes option on, each page's text goes into the speaker notes of its slide. That makes the deck searchable, and you can copy a heading or a paragraph into your own text box instead of retyping it. Scanned pages have no text, so their notes stay empty. Run OCR PDF first if you need their text.
Slide size
Slides take the shape of your pages. Pages within 2% of 16:9 widescreen, 4:3 or 16:10 get that standard size, so a PDF exported from a presentation comes back at its original size. Other pages, such as Letter or A4, keep their own size and orientation. If a few pages have a different shape, they are centered on a white slide instead of being stretched.
Private and quick
Your browser draws each page and builds the PowerPoint file on your own device. The PDF is never uploaded. In our test, a 20-page document became a 20-slide presentation in about 2 seconds at Standard quality, and the file was 6.6 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the text on the slides?
No. Each slide is a picture of its page. You can add your own text boxes, shapes and slides on top, and the page text is in the speaker notes if you kept that option on.
Will it open in Google Slides or Keynote?
Yes. The .pptx file is a standard PowerPoint file, so PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress can open it.
Why is the file so big?
Every slide is a full-page picture. Choose Standard quality for a smaller file, or convert only the pages you need.
Is this PDF to PowerPoint converter free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark, and files up to 200 MB work.
This tool works in your browser: your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Check the result before you share it or delete the original.
