How to rotate a PDF
- Add one or more PDFs. Drop them on the box, paste them with Ctrl+V, or press Select PDF files. All their pages appear in one grid.
- Turn the pages.
- To turn every page, press Left or Right above the pages. Press it twice to turn the pages upside down.
- To turn only some pages, click them first so they get a tick, or type their numbers in Select pages. Then press Left or Right, and only the ticked pages turn.
- Each page also has its own turn button.
- Check the labels. Every turned page shows how far it will turn: ↻ 90° for right, 180°, or ↺ 90° for left.
- Press Rotate PDF and download. One PDF gives you one file. Several PDFs give you one rotated file for each PDF you changed, together in a .zip.
Rotating without losing quality
Every page in a PDF carries a small setting that tells PDF readers which way up to show it. This tool changes only that setting. The page itself is not printed again, turned into a picture or compressed, so:
- text stays sharp, and you can still select, search and copy it,
- the file size stays about the same,
- bookmarks, links and form fields keep working, because the rest of the file is left alone.
Some tools rotate by turning each page into an image, which makes the file bigger and the text unsearchable. This one doesn't. One thing to know: if the PDF has a digital signature, the signature will no longer be valid, because the file has changed.
Rotating many files at once
Add a whole batch of scans in one go. Press Right once and every page of every file turns. If only a few pages came out sideways, tick just those and turn them. Files in which you didn't turn any page are left out of the download, so you only get back what changed. Each new file is named after its original, for example scan-rotated.pdf.
Want the scans in one file, in a different order, or without the blank backs? Organize PDF turns, moves and deletes pages in one go.
Saved in the file
The new direction is stored in the PDF itself, so the pages open the right way up in any PDF reader, in email previews and when you print. The "rotate view" button in many PDF readers only changes what you see on your screen, not the file.
Private and fast
Your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded. Turning pages takes about a second, even for long files, because nothing has to travel over the internet. Each PDF can be up to 200 MB.
Frequently asked questions
Why do my scanned pages open sideways?
The scanner or phone app saved them with the wrong direction. Turning them here fixes that for good, in every reader.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Use the turn button on that page, or click the page so it gets a tick and press Left or Right.
Will rotating change the page size?
No. A portrait page turned 90 degrees shows as landscape, but its paper size stays the same.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Open it in a PDF reader, enter the password, save a copy without one, and rotate that copy.
This tool works in your browser: your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Check the result before you share it or delete the original.
